we had a lovely dinner organized by Lisa de Kooning celebrating the opening of her father’s retrospective at MoMA this week. Chuck gave a wonderful toast in honor of Bill saying “either you’re a Jackson Pollock fan or a de Kooning fan…and I was a de Kooning fan. he was one of the greatest painters ever lived and I admired him greatly…”
